Ministries
“All or Nothing Youth for Christ”Teens ages 13 -18 are ministered to by way of special meetings and activities. They meet every Friday evening. By way of this ministry, MGT ministers to the Youth of the Church and the community via Youth Rallies, Special Presentations, Outings, and Youth-Parent activities. Teens also minister to the Church via Drama, Song, etc. (Easter 1998, the Youth Ministry put together an Easter Presentation which they also presented at Columbia University and at one of the Street Outreaches.)
A group of approximately 50 minister to the congregation every Sunday and at special services, at various prisons throughout the Tri-State area, as well as other states. The summer of 1998 the Choir traveled to San Francisco to Minister at San Quentin Correctional Facility, as well as other churches. The summer of 2000 the Choir traveled to Tampa, Florida to Minister at Orient Road Jail, Tampa's Convention Center and Tampa Bay Tabernacle. The summer of 2001 the choir traveled to Atlanta to minister at 3 prisons in the Atlanta area. Through the choir ministry we have developed a very close tie with Sullivan County Correctional Facility, where David Berkowitz (formerly known as “Son of Sam”) is incarcerated. It is the choir's desire to reach the prison population of NY with the Gospel. This endeavor has had favorable results.
The choir also ministers outdoors during the spring and summer months. The choir ministers at all the Indoor Outreaches and Rallies held during the winter months.
KING'Z KIDZ PROGRAM:
This ministry includes Sunday School, Children's Church, Nursery, Vacation Bible School, S-N-L (Salt-N-Light), and special activities and presentations for and by the children ages 4 through 12 years old.
DRAMA:
Minister during special services, rallies and street outreaches. Minister the Gospel in the form of skits, plays and musical presentations. Produce Christmas and Easter Drama Presentations that minister to the community at various times during the respective Holiday Season. Work closely with the Choir Ministry.
COUPLES MINISTRY:
Scheduled quarterly activities to encourage married couples through seminars, video presentations or special activities.
YOUNG ADULTS MINISTRY (Ages 19-29)
Where single young adults are encouraged through seminars, video presentations or special activities. Once a month, the Young Adults “do lunch” together after the Sunday service.
STREET OUTREACH:
Minister during the spring and summer months. MGT holds open-air services throughout the community reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus via song and drama. This ministry is led by the Choir and Drama departments.
HOUR OF PRAYER:
Intercessory prayer for the various ministries, churches, missionaries, and prayer requests submitted, held Monday, Wednesday & Thursday evenings at the church office.
PRISON OUTREACH / PEN-PAL MINISTRY:
Scheduled trips, 4 or 5 yearly to different correctional facilities in NY State where choir ministers in song and testimonies followed by the preached word. One such facility is Sullivan County which houses the renowned “Son of Sam”, David Berkowitz. Follow-up is maintained through pen-pals who encourage inmates through correspondence and literature.
WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP / MEN'S FELLOWSHIP:
Minister to the Men and Women of the Church and the Community. Each ministry meets once a month with a special service or special dinner/breakfast. Coordinate yearly retreats. These ministries serve the church by overseeing special needs in the body of Christ, i.e., single-parent needs, needs of underprivileged families, etc.
FOUNDATION BIBLE CLASS:
Provides instruction to new converts. Students are taught the foundational truths of the Christian faith.
SOME OF THE SUPPORT MINISTRIES INCLUDE:
- Home and Hospital visitation
- Sound Ministry (includes set-up of all sound equipment: choir risers, speakers, microphones, etc. and tear down and storage of equipment after each church function).
- Bookstore (Sale of bibles, books, music, videos, and other materials to supplement spiritual growth. Also entails set-up and storage of inventory after each service.)
