From the Pastor's Desk
“How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!…For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.” Psalm 133:1,3 (NIV)
There’s something about a united church that gets God’s attention, so much so that it secures His blessing…”life forevermore.” The life referred to here is the life of the Spirit working in and through the members of the body of Christ. I witnessed this firsthand during our Heart For Harlem Weekend Edition on Saturday, September 17th. This was a wonderful sight to behold…roughly eighty members of our church family working hand in hand, praying for people, sharing the gospel, testifying, assisting the many who stopped by the various tables to select clothing, household and various items. This was a new experience for us and also an uneventful one, thanks to our ushers who were on hand to secure the area and help direct traffic. Workers arrived at 8am to pray and get their assignments and worked through the early afternoon. This was a long but rewarding day for many of us. We give God all the glory!
On behalf of Debbie, our staff and myself, I’d like to say a big THANK YOU! Yes, even in a “free market” your labor is never in vain with hopes of seeing the fruit of your labor in the days that follow.
Because of His faithfulness,
Pastor Luis Rivera
